OUR STORY

Nathalie and Loïc Cadou's story is a story of family. It began in France, where Nathalie Le Douaron Cadou’s parents, Annick and Emmanuel LeDouaron, came from. Her parents moved to New York in their 20’s and, like many of their compatriots, opened a restaurant, La Mirabelle. This is where Nathalie would spend many years working alongside her mother whether in the coatroom as a young teenager or as a waitress and later on, running the restaurant as her parents were slowly retiring. Loïc, her husband, also a first generation American, whose parents also moved to New York from France having worked in the French restaurant industry most of their lives. Loïc has worked in the restaurant industry in a few different French restaurants before joining his wife, Nathalie, at La Mirabelle in NYC. Both ran their restaurant with pride, warmth, and professionalism with the motto, "Everyone who comes through our doors become family". Their children and other family members have also worked with them. Unfortunately, after 37 years, Covid shut them down and since have been looking for the perfect place to reopen. Thrilled to open in Oakland, New Jersey, Nathalie and LoÏc will continue to strive for excellence when it comes to the food they serve, a warm and hospitable atmosphere where friends & families come together to celebrate many special occasions with them at French Oak.
